Jose Lara

Jose Lara was born in northern Spain in 1938. He was born around the mid Civil War to World War II. He was 23 years old when he was sent to the United States due to his congregation. Colorado was chosen for his congregation because there were no Spanish-speaking priests at that time. His priesthood began in Our Lady of Guadalupe in Denver Colorado in 1968 that had lasted for seven years. Jose Lara had a big role in the Chicano Movement as activist and a supporter.
