The Fontainebleau was designed by Morris Lapidus and opened in 1954. In 2008, the hotel was renovated.

Judy Garland performed at the Fontainebleau

Judy Garland performed a debut of her album, "Capital - The Letter," at the Fontainebleau in February of 1959. The concert continued on to New York, Chicago, Baltimore, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.
