Santa Ana Community Artist(a) Coalition

Santa Ana Community Artist(a) Coalition works to promote and preserve art within Santa Ana, seeking address the desires of the majority of the populace in Santa Ana through public art. With a focus on cultural art and community murals, the Coalition includes local artists such as Moises Camacho, Kimberly Duran, Roger Reyes, and Elizabeth Cardenas. According to Moises Camacho, the director and co-founder, “We conducted surveys asking people what they wanted to see on the wall [in the Downtown Santa Ana area], and the most popular answer was ‘cultura y gente.'” The Coalition also has a history of resistance against gentrification in the city. The Coalition’s most recent public art mural, Viva Santa Ana, can be found in the alley behind Bush and Main Streets in Downtown Santa Ana.
