Abelardo (Lalo) Delgado
Abelardo Delgado was born November 27, 1930 in Chihuhua Mexico. He first decided to be a poet when he was working with low-income Latino teens at the Community Center at El Paso, Texas. He moved to Denver in 1970 where he became an instructor at the Metropolitan State College of Denver (now known as Metropolitan State University of Denver) for 17 years. Lalo was most famous for “Chicano: 25 pieces of a Chicano Mind” published in 1969”. Lalo passed away in June 23, 2004 in Denver, Colorado.
